Prediction: VIX will spike for Trump's Inauguration

I'm going into this prediction on gut but worry not, my future predictions will be backed with priors, data, and maybe some modeling.

I think it's likely that the VIX will spike within a week of Trump's inauguration beyond what the market is pricing. One possibility may be implementing his tariffs on Day 1.

Re: my post on hedging with the VIX, I decided to get exposure with a vertical call spread for 19Feb2025 (Long 14C, Short 17C).

By the way, you should NOT replicate this. I learn best by having skin in the game so this is an easy way to test the waters while limiting the cost given my past experience with options.
